Why We Built The App for Intentional Parenting
Feb 26, 2025

Every generation faces unique struggles—Baby Boomers adjusting to retirement transitions, Gen Xers balancing the responsibilities of caring for children and aging parents, millennials managing economic challenges and lack of parenting community. Now, Gen Z is entering parenthood in a world that looks vastly different from the one their parents knew.
Parenting used to be more community-driven with older generations, you either had your parents close or family members close who assisted in raising your child, and there were fewer working households making sure that at least one parent was more present in the raising of the kids. Due to economic challenges and social pressures, modern parents face more difficulty with parenting responsibilities, and there are more working households creating less time for families and communities.
This was the case for Lucy’s parents, a young girl in my class. Her parents had both been too busy to attend a Science Day presentation they had been invited to by the school I worked in, we had prepared our preschoolers to showcase some science experiments and their parents had been invited to come to watch and show these pupils' support. In the middle of the presentation, a sudden loud cry broke out, someone was crying, ‘I want my mummy’. It was Lucy, I tried to pacify her, and soon, many other tiny voices released loud cries, all of them wanting their parents who had been absent. It eventually took me and two other teachers to pacify these pupils.
I spoke to Lucy’s mum at the close of school and she mentioned to me she had been busy and thought her husband would be chanced to attend but she only discovered that he had also been busy on the morning of the science presentation. Her reason sounded very familiar because while I was growing up, my parents were also often so busy, that they missed days like that and this struck a chord in me. That moment made me question: How can we make parenting more intentional and connected, even in today’s fast-paced world?
At first, my husband and I created a simple card game to help couples have meaningful conversations about parenting. But we quickly realized that modern families needed more action-driven solutions. They needed an engaging guide to better parenting and a centralized tool to organize family responsibilities—without juggling multiple apps, calendars, and scattered notes.
